I am considering becoming a Muslim. I was not circumcised at birth, so is it obligatory for me to get circumcised to become a Muslim? Or is it recommended?

It was good to know that you are considering becoming a Muslim. Allah commands that:

وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
“And those who strive in Our (cause) - We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right.”
(Al-‘Ankaboot 29:69)

You continue your research and quest for the right path; you will find the truth insha Allah.
As far as circumcision is concerned, it is obligatory (wajib), and there is no complication in it. You can secretly get it done by any surgeon, and will get well in a few days, and no one will know about it insha Allah.
